using vista business to connect to shared folder fails after two connections?

I have a client with a 7 computer network, all computers are connected in a peer to peer topology when attempting to access files on the "server" after two connections the program trying to access the files locks up (to connections work simitaniously, but a third computer running the program will not) the files that are attempting to be accessed are Database files, and have worked on other systems is there any way to solve this problem?

1. First, Make Sure that you are using a Switch and not a Router. Then you will need to look at the sharing struchure and you may need to upgrade the Sever firewall.
