Computer Diagrams

Know any good computer apps for writing math assignments, including graphs, diagrams, symbols, etc?

I want to upload these pages to an elearning site. Thanx I need something that has all the math symbols, like sq roots, geometric designs, etc

1. Excel is really good for graphs and charts.
