Computer Diagrams

I have a computer and a dsl modem for it and my modem wont register on the computer. What can i do?

It is a AT&T DSL motem and the ethernet light wont light wont light up. I've checked all my connections and everything seems plugged in like the diagram shows. The computer im using is only three or four years old and should be compatable. i'VE been able to use other computers and my PS2 for the internet but just not this computer.

1. it may not be the computer, it may be your modem. Call up your isp and see if they get any signal.
2. hi well all you need to do is to go to NETWORK CONNECTIONS--> right click on the local area connectiion and click on properties--> then in the window you'll see a list where the last option will be TCP/IP double click that--> in the new window select Automatically obtain IP address and automatically obtain DNS server and then click OK and then again OK--> now again roght click on the Local area connection and click on disable wait for 1 minute and then again right click the same icon and enable the card and see whether it works or not !!! it'll work 99%
